Joyful Emoji Day Celebration at ELA Green School: A Bright Representation of Feeling and Creativity

Image
At ELA Green School, we focus on the holistic development of our learners, which includes the cultivation of emotional intelligence, creativity, and a sense of joy alongside academic achievement. A wonderful demonstration of this philosophy in action was the recently celebrated Emoji Day, and the credit goes to our EYP (Early Years Programme) team, whose unparalleled commitment transformed the day into a wonderful celebration of laughter, learning, and individual expression. The entire event consisted of fun activities as well as meticulous planning. We especially thank the entire EYP team for the creativity and enthusiasm in planning the day. Activities such as classroom activities and the fun-filled emoji parade where students dress as their favorite emoji, added a lot of color and joy to the day. All in attendance can agree that that was a remarkable day. The emoji freeze dance, where young one dance their hearts out...

Cultivating Healthy Minds and Bodies: Yoga Session for PYP 2 Learners Organized at Ela Green School.

Image
At Ela Green School, extreme importance is given to the complete development of a child's personality to help them grow not only mentally but physically and emotionally as well. Recently, our PYP 2 participants were part of a life affirming yoga session which exhibited their excitement, confidence and leadership qualities. A group of young learners who volunteered for the class were sent to lead the sessions. They assisted their classmates with warm up drills and then carefully illustrated how they were to perform the various asanas. Their ability to talk and amass a group was a pleasure to see, for it demonstrated the very principles we advocate for as a school, Ela Green School, which is one of the Best IB Syllabus Schools in Chengalpattu . More than being solely a physical session, yoga is an art that students can use to focus better, become more flexible and learn to control the mind. These abilities are essential as they enhance our already comprehensive program which ...

Finding the Relationships of Our Community Helpers: A Field Trip to the Police and Fire Stations!

Image
At Ela Green School, we appreciate that every child is away from home and would have to undergo this type of learning in the real world. Our EYP 3 students, as part of the continuing learning unit, ‘community helpers’ undertook a fascinating field trip to the police station and the fire station . This adventure offered them an opportunity to appreciate the services rendered by these ordinary heroes in society. Firefighter: An Adventure within the Fire Department’s Place The division to fight fire was accompanied by a sense of wonder as the scholars came into contact with the different tools that were in use by the firefighters. Students were excited and curious as they experienced the sights of fire trucks, hoses, and ladders, and such tools as the fire weapons themselves were even allowed to use! This was great since it taught the children how such professionals respond to callouts and how special it is to save property, or rather lives, professionally. A Study Trip to the Polic...

A Day at the Hospital: EYP 3 Students Learn About Healthcare

Image
A Hands-On Learning Experience Articulating the theoretical aspects, though the hands-on orientation is more useful in their growing years, students at Ela Green School utilize a lot of hard learning. In our last activity, we set up a hospital for EYP 3 students. This was a good demonstration of how simple yet creative activities can be used to learn critical concepts and erase all boundaries. They were even taking active turns in role-playing as both caregivers and patients and thus gained some aspects of how practitioners do their daily duties—ingesting and aggravating highly skilled professionals. Exploring the Roles of Healthcare Professionals They divided into groups, and the classroom was turned into a mini-hospital. Others were doctors, who 'examined' the children who were 'patients', while other students focused on nursing tasks such as arranging ‘drips’ and sedatives and other molecules. From the role-play, they understood how all the professionals in the h...

Image
Recently, Ela Green School had a wonderful Look-Alike Day, where students could showcase their creativity and uniqueness by dressing up as their admired characters, as everyone shared creativity and joined in the fun. Superheroes and famous people dominated the reigns of the hallways as there were colorful costumes, excitement, and happiness all throned about. Woody Steals the Show Woody Steals the Show is one of the Broadway stage characters who stood out the most, and many young boys stand out today because of how many children wore the dress of the animated figure known as Woody; it is a movie character adored by kids. The fun enabled members of the students to be imaginative and creative, as well as to go outside the box to have a new look. Fostering Open-Mindedness and Acceptance Dressing up in costumes allowed pupils to see things from someone else’s point of view . The students valued a variety of characters, book plots, and their origins, which encouraged them to be open...
