ELA Green School: EYP Students Shine at the Mini Market Mela

Image
What if learning felt less like school and more like a marketplace of ideas? At ELA Green School, we believe that education should inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence, and the Mini Market Mela we had recently hosted with our EYP students was the perfect reflection of that vision. The event was more than just a fun activity—it was a hands-on learning experience where children stepped into the shoes of real world entrepreneurs, doctors, artists and community builders. The Mela showcased what ELA Green School is about. It goes beyond the traditional approach of education and textbooks and emphasizes the importance of developing life skills even outside the classroom. A Marketplace of Creativity and Learning The Mini Market Mela featured several booths that highlighted the creativity and skills of our EYP learners. Each stall was designed to help children develop skills in problem solving, collaboration and even leadership. One of the most colourful booths was the P...

ELA Green School Vousin Successfully Composed the 2nd District-Level Chess Tournament with King’s Mate Chess Academy

Image
We are happy to tell you that the collaborative work with King’s Mate Chess Academy to host a 2nd District-Level Chess Tournament at ELA Green School was a great success. It is a matter of great excitement for all of us that the event received overwhelming participation from students, schools and the whole district, and indeed, this is the very reason for the commitment of ELA Green School to the holistic development along with achievement of set academic goals. The tournament, which is just one of wonderful features of the beautiful and eco-friendly Green School, which is one of the best IB schools in South India, brought together more than 300 students from 65 to 70 schools, which is a remarkable number for educational tournaments of this kind. The success of the tournament is vividly illustrated by the fact that students did not just come from the neighbouring areas, for example, Madhuranthakam and Tambaram, but from far places as well. The event was aimed at providing a cha...

Celebrating Rakshabandhan with EYP2 Students at Ela Green School

Image
The students of EYP 2 celebrated Rakshabandhan, a festival that stands for love, care, and protection between siblings. At Ela Green School , this day provided an avenue for our young students to have a taste of what friendship, love, and unity are all about, as depicted in the occasion. A Heartwarming Celebration On that note, the EYP2 students marked Rakshabandhan by tying traditional Rakhis not only around the wrists of their siblings but also around those of their classmates. This is much more than just a family affair; it embraces friends and peers who are always there for each other. The site of little hands threading colorful treads brought home to me how deep yet pure these ties were between our children. Understanding the Significance of Rakshabandhan Before the celebrations kicked off, teachers narrated stories explaining the cultural importance of Rakshabandhan to kids. Through the storytelling method, they learned from history how the festival began and why it is celebrate...

Ela Green Goes Green (Again!) With a Sparkling Christmas Tree

Image
Hold your neck snaps, folks! Ela Green School may have just redecorated gravity with our dazzling Christmas tree, and it’s a sight to behold… without the sore shoulder, that is. This year, we ditched the traditional fir for something a little more unconventional (and sustainable, of course) — a towering tree made entirely of recycled 7UP and Sprite bottles! Remember the mountains of plastic bottles left after every school function? Yep, those. We’ve given them a new life, transforming them from potential landfill dwellers into twinkling, shimmering ornaments fit for a plastic-free paradise. But this isn’t just about decking the halls with recycled goods (though, let’s be honest, it’s pretty darn cool). It’s about sending a message: every little thing, even the seemingly useless, can be reborn into something beautiful and meaningful. ♻ Think of it this way: every bottle on this tree represents a small step towards a cleaner planet. It’s a reminder that even a seemingly insignifica...
