ELA Green School: EYP Students Shine at the Mini Market Mela

The event was more than just a fun activity—it was a hands-on learning experience where children stepped into the shoes of real world entrepreneurs, doctors, artists and community builders. The Mela showcased what ELA Green School is about. It goes beyond the traditional approach of education and textbooks and emphasizes the importance of developing life skills even outside the classroom.



A Marketplace of Creativity and Learning

The Mini Market Mela featured several booths that highlighted the creativity and skills of our EYP learners. Each stall was designed to help children develop skills in problem solving, collaboration and even leadership. One of the most colourful booths was the Pebble Frames, while the other was the Police Booth where children showcased great courage and confidence. The Medical Camp was very popular, and in this activity, the children demonstrated the most compassion, kindness and empathy when they role-played as caregivers and doctors.



From the experiences, the students were able to complement the lessons learned in the classroom with field applications, further proving the importance of educating the students in the round. Parents, the children teachers, and even visitors were stunned by how the children so easily grasped and were able to perform their duties. This made the whole event fun and also instructional.

Confidence Building Outside of the Classroom

We, at ELA Green School, view such activities as integral in the course of nurturing and grooming the leaders of tomorrow. The Mini Market Mela, in itself, was aimed at more than just the selling of the crafts that were prepared, and the pretending to work at various jobs. Life skills were more important. Students were able to master the art of talking to people, working with others, and thinking outside the box, all at the same time, learning to enjoy the activities. These are skills that are absolutely necessary for children to develop and possess in this ever-evolving world.
