Friendship Day Celebration – PYP 1A

Image
At ELA Green School, we celebrate milestones with the aim of developing values, character, and relationships among our learners. This month, the PYP 1A students commemorated Friendship Day with an activity which involved great warmth and creativity, epitomizing the essence of teamwork, kindness, and togetherness. The activity culminated with the students collectively making a Friendship Tree. Students collaborated in placing their leaves on the branches which illustrated the way friendships develop...

Independence Day Celebration at ELA Green School – 15th August 2025

On 15th August 2025 the ELA Green School, Maraimalainagar’s premier IB institution, marked the 79th Independence Day of India in the spirit of grace and solidarity that has come to define its annual observance. The campus buzzed with song, dance, and the fragrance of marigold and jasmine wreaths, freshly woven by our children, as flags of every saffron, white, and green hue rippled in the emerging sunlight. The chief guest, Thiru. Aranga Girichandran, distinguished Ward 4 Councillor of the Maraimalai Nagar Municipality, stepped forward to hoist the tricolor. In a measured voice that cut clearly enough so the last row in the kindergarten enclosure could hear, he re-called the sacrifice of forgotten heroes and called each of our 1,300 budding citizens to see in midday markers and grades a smaller struggle representing the wider fight for dignity. Education, discipline, and a sense of shared custodianship, he said, are the continuing liberty for which every young citizen can, an...

At Ela Green School, learning extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms. We were delighted to host our Second Model United Nations conference – EGSMUN 2025 held on Friday, 8th August, and Saturday, 9th August 2025 at our campus. What made this event truly special was that it was a completely student-led initiative under the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The theme for EGSMUN 2025 was “Diplomacy in a Diverse World.” This theme highlighted the importance of dialogue, empathy, and collaboration in addressing the complex global challenges of our time. By stepping into the shoes of diplomats and decision-makers, our students had the unique opportunity to practice diplomacy, explore diverse perspectives, and propose constructive solutions to pressing international issues. Why EGSMUN 2025 Mattered MUN conferences are much more than academic exercises—they are platforms for developing critical skills that shape young l...
