Motivating Guest Lecture by a Physician at Ela Green School

At Ela Green School, one of the Top IB Schools in South India, hands-on learning opportunities are offered to the students which cut across the bounds of the classroom. Recently we had the honor of hosting a highly esteemed doctor for a guest lecture which was aimed at fostering holistic growth and knowledge in our students. He opened up the medicine and healthcare field to our young learners which made them very curious.



He rounded off his speech by informing the students of the many roles that a clinician adheres to. For instance, he deliberated upon the fact many inputs go into making a diagnosis, which includes etiology of the disease, some physical signs, laboratory tests, etc. The students were fascinated by this complicated yet fundamental process of how diseases are diagnosed and how the best treatment is sought after.



In addition, the doctor highlighted how other doctors help the patients for instance prescribing and giving medications, and performing surgical procedures. He stated how a doctor should possess compassion and love, be patient, and listen to the patient. His digital presentation had concrete examples enabling the students to appreciate how doctors deal with problems that are not simple and indeed make decisions that are life-changing.



He was not only involved in diagnosing and treating illnesses, but he also talked about performing medical procedures, be it a simple test or an intricate operation. He detailed the work and training needed for the accomplishment of such tasks and motivated students to take up medicine as a profession.



There's no denying the efforts made by Ela Green School, among the recognized as one of the Best IB Schools in Tamilnadu and among the Best Schools in Maraimalainagar, in ensuring students do not focus on a single career only. This guest lecture was a great way for students to meet an expert working in the field of healthcare, so as to enlarge their scope of the healthcare sector.



In such ways, Ela Green School hopes to raise interest in studying, but will also equip young students with professional orientations with an international outlook so that they become tomorrow’s leaders.
