Onam Celebrations at ELA Green – A Festival of Joy, Culture, and Togetherness
we regard celebration as more than
merely a routine, as we consider it a celebration that entails all the cultural
ethos and joyful moments a child can cherish. This year, the whole campus was
filled with colors, smiles, and traditions as we celebrated one of the most
important festivals in the year, Onam. Students of all ages joined hands to
create outlines that are a big part of the Onam celebration. They call this
particular art work athapoo. It's a festive floral rangoli made with petals. Having
all the students work together made evident that the knowledge pupils are
acquiring extends well beyond the walls of the school and the pages of their
textbooks. They were proudly pookalam as one and it was a beautiful
collaboration on so many levels.
Embracing Traditions and Values
Like all other cultural
celebrations, Onam focuses on preserving the country’s cultural and traditions,
and that is why, we at ELA Green, work on assisting the students to learn, know
and understand the country’s diverse culture through exciting traditions; to
enrich their knowledge, the children were told the story of King Mahabali,
dressed in festival clothing, all the while courtesy of the wonder of kindness,
generosity, and togetherness, which this festive day embodies.
These experiences leave students with the importance of diversity
and traditions and impart respect for all cultures. This is one of the
countless reasons ELA Green is ranked amid the Best
Schools in Maraimalainagar. We strive for all-around development which
enables children to grow academically, emotionally, and culturally.
Learning Through Joy and Celebration
Learning is also attached to the enjoyment and celebration of
events, as is the case with the inclusion of Onam. Children learned stories
linked with the festival, participated in indigenous songs and games, and
savored festive foods with peers and teachers. The scene was joyous, and filled
with unity and a special type of exuberance that accompanies the innocence of
childhood.
This demonstrates our vision as one of the Best IB schools in Chennai,
focusing on experiential learning, and fostering imagination and a global
outlook. The IB framework encourages children to delve into the world of
critical thinking, confident expression, and the appreciation of various
cultures, beginning with their own.
Looking ahead - new family admission is open for the year of
2025-2026
While cherishing the amazing memories of Onam, we would also like
to extend a warm welcome to new families joining our community. ELA Green is
delighted to announce the opening of Vijayadasami admissions for the
year 2025-2026. This period is thought to be very fortunate when a child
embarks on the learning journey. We put a lot of effort into creating a
culture-rich environment tailored to a child’s first day of school.
Nothing less than a child’s fullest potential is permitted at ELA
Green. We thoughtfully plan programming to ensure balance between our world
class facilities, the dynamics of the IB curriculum, and our educators. Our
family, who are at the same time educators, aspiring to shape a child for the
future.
At ELA Green the Onam festival is a teaching opportunity and we
also integrate fun and culture into our students’ learning. This school helps
shape children into individuals of curiosity, compassion and confidence able to
appreciate every facet of our world.
We are sure your children will be able to learn and keep learning
for the rest of their lives. This Vijayadasami, come and join the ELA Green
family and let your child enjoy the opportunity of learning with joy.
Join the ELA Green family
