How History Day Was Celebrated At Ela Green School
At Ela Green School history was fun as students came up and
actively participated in the History Day celebrations in a colorful manner. It
was a great chance for students to appreciate and understand historical figures
and events in a playful and creative role play manner.
‘’We can do invention and discovery’’ was the motivation for our
PYP 1A students who came as famous inventors and scientists. They portrayed
great figures like Thomas Alva Edison (lighting a bulb in his head), American
inventor Alexander Graham Bell, Canadian geophysicist turning X-ray imaging
into art, the ever-popular Marie Curie, great ideas represented by Maria
Tekles, Aryabhatta - father of modern mathematics and astronomy from India, and
the most famous in aviation Orville and Wilbur Wright. With these outfits and
presentation styles, the students have shown the world what these people had
contributed and harnassed the creative energy of the audience.
On the other hand, our EYP learners enhanced the day by coming
in wearing regalia reminiscent of their favorite kings, queens and chieftains.
The young children fully acted out the historical characters in a manner that
demonstrated their appreciation of the great history and culture that we have.
The students’ outfits and props and their recounting of the history added great
flavor to the event and helped cultivate reverence and interest in history.
Ela Green School prides itself of being among the best
IB PYP schools in Vandalur and this has been made possible by not recstitution of learning
to simply textbooks but rather, diving into practical illustrations that
trigger dollops of imagination. This event also highlighted our focus to be
among the best
schools in Guduvanchery in which children in all their uniqueness are prepared for all
aspects of life in such a way that they develop creativity, confidence, and
enjoyment of learning.
At the Ela Green School best schools in Maraimalainagar, the History Day was not strictly a revisiting of
events of the previous years, but rather an opportunity to cultivate as well as
encourage a child in as many ways as possible to ensure they aim high and work
towards changing the future. They are nowadays encouraged because of the rich
experiences they gained through the participation of students and am sure we
will have many more!
