                          Children at Elagreen delve into a rich tapestry of knowledge through our inquiry-based curriculum. In their third unit of inquiry, aptly titled "Exploring Space," students of Grade PYP-5 embarked on a captivating journey to understand the mysteries of the cosmos. From the inception of the universe to the intricacies of celestial bodies, they delved deep into various theories that elucidate the origin and evolution of our cosmic home. 

  

Unravelling Celestial Wonders: From Solar Systems to Black Holes 

                         Throughout the program, students engaged in a multifaceted exploration of space, encompassing topics such as the solar system, black holes, dwarf planets, stars, constellations, and much more. By immersing themselves in these concepts, they not only expanded their factual understanding but also nurtured critical thinking skills and a sense of wonder about the universe. 

 Harnessing the Tools of Exploration: Hands-On Learning with Space Research Instruments

                        Moreover, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with cutting-edge space research tools, including telescopes, rockets, and rovers. Hands-on activities and experiments allowed them to grasp the practical applications of these tools, deepening their appreciation for the scientific method and technological innovation. 

 Shining Bright: Student Led Conferences Illuminate Learning 

                          One of the highlights of the Space Activity Program was the culmination of learning through Student Led Conferences (SLC). During these conferences, students took centre stage as they showcased their newfound knowledge and skills to their peers, teachers, and parents. Through engaging role plays, they brought to life concepts such as the Big Bang theory, rocket propulsion, and the remarkable success story of Chandrayaan, India's lunar exploration mission. 

 Reflecting on the Journey: Personal Insights and Discoveries 

                      Additionally, each student had the opportunity to reflect individually on their learning journey, articulating their insights, challenges, and discoveries from the unit. This personalized approach to reflection not only fosters metacognitive skills but also empowers students to take ownership of their learning experiences.
