Education Fair at Ela Green School: Pathway to the US

Recently, Ela Green School hosted a foreign delegation as part of the “Pathway to the US: Education Fair,” which was one of the most eagerly awaited events. The primary purpose of the event was to take students, parents, teachers, and other interested people through what America has to offer within its institutions of higher learning. The event was a real triumph owing to the combined efforts of the delegates on a visit and the teachers from the school.

Esteemed Delegates and Their Contributions

In the course of the fair, there was a long list of delegates with knowledge of international education:

  1. Megan Mankerian, founder and executive director at Global Leaders Collective

  2. Sami Smith, Assistant Director for International Admissions, High Point University

  3. Fred Griffiths, the director of international programs at Klamath Community College

  4. Apurva Shaurya, Representative from RIT Dubai

  5. Bryant Dowd, Representative from Chapman University

This is just to say that every delegate contributed to the knowledge rogue of the Ela Green community regarding the motives and procedures of studying in the United States, from course selection and university choices to financial management and scholarships.

Insights from Megan Mankerian

Megan Mankerian, with 13+ years of experience in international education, conducted one of the most lively and thought-provoking sessions in the training. Considering the students, she taught them how American education works and what benefits studying abroad brings. For parents, Megan organized a special session on issues such as financial resources, choosing the right course, and how IB students gain an advantage during the admissions process.

Objectives and significance of the visiting delegates

The major aim of the delegates' visit was to arm Ela Green students with the knowledge and tools that they need to take charge of their academics. The audience was intended to guide on issues such as:

  • Course selection and safe universities or institutions to consider: Sourcing for university courses suitable for students based on their interests and present and future career aspirations.

  • In financial planning and finding aid, Books, Scholarship, and Aid: Counseling on how to deal with the financial side of higher education and searching for available loans and scholarships.

  • Shaping of students’s profiles: How students can develop a strong academic portfolio and extra activities to increase their chances of getting admitted to top universities.

  • Direct engagement and networking: creating a chance for students to meet the university representatives, address queries, and build networks.

The Delegates' Address to the Ela Green Community

In their address, the delegates thanked the administration for the possibility of coming to Ela Green School and outlined the necessity of proper thinking before choosing a future path. They made a comprehensive put on how the US higher education system is, including the differences that are preset between the university, college, and community college. The delegates also spoke about academic requirements and academics, co-curricular activities, and financial needs. The students were prompted to not only focus on studies but all aspects of campus life, which is accommodation and adjustment to the new environment away from home.

The Role of Ela Green's University Counsellor

Amaya Lal, who was the university counselor at Ela Green School, helped in organizing this event. This made sure that the delegates delivered the most relevant issues and helped the students liaise with the university representatives in some ways. Amaya arranged each delegate at individual stands whereby students engaged the delegate, asking questions requiring precise answers.

Benefits to Ela Green Students

The students who attended the fair walked away with several key benefits:

  • Informed Decision-Making: Students were well informed on course materials, financial aspects, and university information that enabled them to make evident choices regarding the academic progress they wished to pursue.

  • Direct Interaction with University Representatives: Because there was a representative of the institution present, it was easy for students to express their concerns and receive satisfactory answers.

  • Understanding the Admissions Process: Such activities in turn enabled students to have a comforting knowledge of the U.S. university admission prerequisites.

  • Exploration of Financial Aid and Scholarships: Students became conversant with many financial assistance programs, including scholarship schemes, which are pertinent to strategizing educational objectives.

  • Profile Enhancement Tips: Advice on how to enhance academic and non-academic activities will help make any applications comprehensively competitive.

  • Exposure to Campus Life: Experiences on what living on a campus in America is like provided students with realistic expectations of accommodation and adjustment in a new culture.

  • Ongoing Support and Updates: Due to the completion of forms offered by the delegates, students guaranteed that they would receive further details about the regular application schedules and other important aspects.

Ela Green School students had a wonderful experience at the “Pathway to the US Education Fair” and gained the knowledge and the courage to tackle the difficult process of applying for and selecting a suitable university. Understanding that it is not enough for students to just attend school, the institution strives to ensure that all students can reach their educational and professional goals by providing them with such opportunities.
