Insight from the Ela Green School’s Meeting on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH)

 Introduction and Purpose of the Meeting

Welcome to the Ela Green School Community! We are very excited to share our discussions during the meeting that was held lately concerning the prevention of sexual harassment (Posh) at the workplace in India. Everybody present, however, had an experience that showed them how enlightening this entire session could become.







Esteemed Guest Speaker: Mr. Arocia Das


Our guest speaker was Mr. Arocia Das, who is known for oration on diverse themes and is a practicing advocate at the High Court of Madras. His expansive knowledge about legal matters helped in bringing insight into the PoSH Act, thus making it an informative as well as an interesting session.





Key Insights on the PoSH Act


Firstly, Mr. Das talked about various issues related to this act and its use for the creation of a safe work environment where respect reigns supreme. To explain this Act fully, he went through the fine points of the legal framework, employer’s responsibility, and employee’s rights under the same document, whose elaborateness culminated in enabling our staff and students to appreciate how important PoSH is in preventing as well as tackling sexual harassment at workplaces.



Interactive Session and Q&A


Questions flowed after that; participants had the chance to ask queries that they never understood regarding the Posh Act, but they wished to get it made clear by Das from his end. He answered each one, still ensuring nobody left without knowing what he had been assigned under the PoSh Act.





Conclusion and Appreciation


To conclude, the PoSH meeting was very successful thanks to immense input from Mr. Arocia Das, among others who participated in deliberations. We would like to thank Mr. Arocia Das for sharing his knowledge with us, thereby making us better off than before. Besides acknowledging their keen involvement throughout this meeting aimed at fostering a safe and respectful environment in the Ela Green School community.
